I got the idea from a dream I had several years ago. In the dream I saw 1000 birds fly out of my hands. The birds traveled around the world and whispered into the ears of humans all over the planet, instructing them how to become more Earth Honoring. I started painting birds. Shuar Girl with Hummingbird Earrings watercolor painting 8"x 8"   Shuar Guide oil on canvas, 24"x24" Meanwhile, I took a trip to Ecuador and went deep into the Amazon Jungle. There, I met some beautiful Shuar people. One of the young girls was wearing earrings made of feathers. While painting the earrings, the feathers turned into little bird shapes. After that, I had a dream in which a native girl appeared to me and became my guide. Following the dream, I painted my Shuar Guide. I think the birds are putting green into my guide's ears. I see the birds as her guides, informing her about nature. Back in Massachusetts, a dear friend of mine got a wonderful bird named Chirpi. Chirpi loves to sit on everyone's shoulders. He tries to remove my earrings, thinking they are little seeds. He is informing me about nature.
